A QLED TV uses quantum dot technology. Quantum dots emit extremely precise colours, which enhances brightness and overall picture quality. This can be particularly useful in bright rooms and daytime viewing. An OLED TV (organic light emitting diode) uses self-illuminating pixels. Meaning they can produce deeper tones of black, providing richer colours and higher contrasts. This creates more realistic and natural looking images. Which type of television you choose depends on a number of factors. If your TV is in a darker room, an OLED TV is the ideal choice for a more cinematic experience, however in a brighter room, a QLED is the better option.
Once you’ve received your new TV, it is important to register it for the manufacturer warranty. Each manufacturer provides a different warranty period. To claim the warranty you’ll need to visit the manufacturer’s website and fill in your details. These will include the serial number, date of purchase and proof of purchase along with your contact details. Some manufacturer’s will require you to register within a specific timeframe, so it is important to do this as soon as you receive your goods.
While it isn’t essential to buy a soundbar, having one can improve your viewing experience. If you enjoy watching films or you’re into gaming, adding a soundbar can improve the bass and create a more immersive feel. Soundbars are ideal in compact rooms as they do not take up too much space. They also work really well with slim, wall mounted TV’s. You can usually connect a soundbar to your television via Bluetooth or Dolby Atmos without needing to use wires. Soundbars are relatively easy to set up and provide you with dramatically better sound quality. If you are an avid TV viewer, adding a soundbar is a worthy investment.
We supply a selection of TV brands, only working with the best in the business. Deciding on a brand is ultimately down to personal preference. However some customers prefer to choose a brand they are already familiar with. Choosing a brand you already have in your home can be handy as you can often program them from the same apps. Samsung’s SmartThings app, for example, connects all your home appliances and you can access everything you need from one place.
TV use the same A-G energy efficiency scale that home appliances use. Each energy label will show a rating from A-G, with A being the most energy efficient. TV energy labels also show the energy consumption in kWh per 1000 hours. The label will also show the screen size and resolution in pixels. Currently in the UK, energy rating labels are not required for soundbars. Some brands do provide them however it is not a legal requirement as with other appliances.
A 4K TV provides fantastic clarity, however an 8K TV will provide you with the best possible viewing experience in 2026. Offering four times as many pixels as a 4K TV and a whopping sixteen times as many pixels as a 1080p TV, an 8K TV provides a clearer, crisper image. Essentially, the more pixels, the better and more immersive the viewing experience is. As technology advances, we will see more 8K televisions available. Currently we have a wider selection of 4K TV’s to choose from. If price is a key consideration, 8K TV’s do cost considerably more than 4K TV’s so a 4K TV is a more budget friendly option.
If you are a keen gamer, you’ll want to choose a TV that will enhance your gaming experience. Things to consider when choosing a good gaming TV include the screen resolution – the more pixels the better. A low input lag, after all, no one wants a delay, even a short one, during critical moments of game play! Another thing to check for is a HDMI connection, as this makes setting up to play, simple and easy. Some televisions feature a game mode – this means you can enjoy the optimal settings for gaming, without needing to manually fiddle around with the settings each time. Ultimately, the TV you choose will come down to a number of factors. These will include the size of your room as well as your budget. We have a fantastic selection of TV’s from leading brands including Samsung, Hisense, LG and TCL. If you want a truly immersive experience, adding a soundbar will dramatically improve the sound quality. Many of our TV’s have matching soundbars available.
