Important Information: Haier Safety Notice
In August 2025 The Haier Group, who own multiple appliance brands, issued a safety notice on 27 tumble dryers. The Haier Group are a global brand who own several major appliance brands. These include; Haier, Hoover, Candy, Baumatic and Caple.
The Haier Group issued the following statement:
“We have recently identified a product safety issue that affects our built-in heat pump tumble dryers. The issue relates to manufacturing variations which can result in the product catching fire when it is in use.
We take consumer safety very seriously and want to reduce any product safety risks to a minimum. Therefore, we would like to carry out an in-home modification to rectify the issue. This would require a service engineer to attend your home, free of charge.
Important: If you own one of the affected models, you should immediately STOP using and unplug the appliance until the engineer has completed the modification.”

Is my appliance affected?
You can find out if your appliance is affected by checking your serial number on the Haier website. You can find this 16 digit number inside the door panel of your appliance. Please note, this safety notice only affects specific built in heat pump tumble dryers that were purchased between 2019 and 2025.
