Die casting is the process of moulding a metal into a particular shape. Aluminium is lightweight, strong and is resistant to corrosion, making it perfect for small appliances that have a unique shape.

Blenders use a stainless steel blade to cut and emulsify their ingredients. A double blade has vertical facing and horizontal facing spikes to fully blend ingredients together.

Pulse Function

The pulse function gives you control over the consistency of your ingredients. Short pulses of the blade can: blend through super frozen & large ingredients; create thicker soups and sauces; blend bread into breadcrumbs and croutons.

As suggested by the name, hot water is slowly released through a basket of coffee grounds which then slowly drips into a carafe below the machine.

Professional Pressure (BAR)

BAR Pressure indicates the amount of pressure used to push water through coffee grounds. The force and water combined draws flavours and oils from the coffee, so different levels of pressure affects the flavour of your coffee.

Tamper

A tamper is a tool used to compact coffee into a puck ready for use in a coffee machine. Water is pushed through the puck to create the flavour and nutrients in your coffee.

Carafe

They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, a carafe is a jug that collects coffee. Largely used in drip coffee machines and ideal for sharing.

Milk Frother

A milk frother creates creamy, frothy milk through forcefully stirring or pushing steam through milk in a jug.

Bean to Cup

This coffee machine type makes coffee directly from the beans, reducing the need for manual grinding and tamping. As the beans are ground up prior to pouring, the coffee is fresh and full of flavour.

The crumb tray is an internal part of your toaster, usually indicated by a handle or lip that can be pulled out from the bottom. It is used to catch all interior crumbs and should be emptied regularly.

A cylinder vacuum cleaner come as both bagless and with bags. The cylinder body is on the floor, with a hose coming from it for ease of use. A cylinder is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre.

The upright vacuum cleaner is pushed directly in front of you, with the suction end a very short distance from the handle. This is ideal for large homes, but makes it difficult to clean under furniture.

Stick vacuum cleaners are the modern version of the upright, offering wireless cleaning with no cord. They are much lighter than their upright counterparts and often come with charging stations.

Suction Power

This is how effectively a vacuum can clean, and pick up dirt. It is essentially how much pull pressure there is from the vacuum to the surface containing dirt.

A brush roll is one of the main attachment types used for a vacuum cleaner. It has lots of stiff bristles to agitate debris in carpets and stop scratches from occurring on carpetless floors.
